Nikky – Co-Owner / Aesthetician
I have always been obsessed with the beauty industry and everything about it. At a very young age my mom taught me how to take care of my skin, she always told my sister and me how important it is to wash your face and she always bought us the best products. It just stuck with me I guess. When I was finally of age to work, I always had a job in the beauty industry working at cosmetic counters. As much as l loved makeup, it was the skincare products that excited me more. I decided to go to esthetics school in 2000. It’s been such an inspiring journey since. I’ve met so many great and knowledgeable humans along the way in this industry. I met Sean, who is not only my business partner but my bestie. And most importantly, I get to help people feel great about themselves.
I love how this industry is forever growing. I enjoy learning about new treatments, technology, and products that I can use in my treatment room to deliver the best results to my patients. When you love what you do it’s not work and I absolutely LOVE my “job”!
Sean – Co-Owner / Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Injector
I’ve always wanted to get into Medical Aesthetics ever since I can remember, but it’s a tough industry to get into. After practicing Primary Care for the under/uninsured in the Kansas City Metro area for a couple years as a nurse practitioner, I was able to breakthrough. In 2015, I joined a surgical organization where I was the lead nurse practitioner for the facial plastic surgery division. Working there provided me the foundation to my injection career. In 2017, I left this surgical organization and started working in a medical spa where I soon became the Lead Injector. It was at this medical spa that I met Nikky. After working together for a year we decided to open up Face KC Medical Spa in February of 2019. I am now a Master Injector who focuses primarily on injectables and I wouldn’t change a thing! It’s a wonderful feeling to be a business owner, but an even better feeling because I’m doing what I’ve always wanted to do-Medical Aesthetics.

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are called “mid-level” providers. This means that they can do many of the same things that a doctor can do provided they are properly trained and experienced. Best Medspa Kansas City. They can see new patients, make diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and even prescribe medication. Most states do not require the doctor overseeing the NP or PA to be on site, although there are often distance and documentation requirements .
But don’t be shy! Ask about the NP’s experience, ask about his or her overseeing doctor, and ask to see all supporting documentation if you have questions. All of this should be readily available and, if it’s not, that’s a red flag you need to take into consideration. It depends on your state, but as a general rule, yes, that’s perfectly fine.
And don’t simply take their word for it—ask for their license number (all nurses are registered with the state), ask to speak to their supervising physician, and ask for references. These should be readily available. Typically, yes, but you should definitely do some research to make sure the event is safe and compliant.
Remember, you should see a doctor, NP, or PA first, before you are treated.

What are HA fillers?
Juvederm or Restylane are hyaluronic fillers that are suspended in gel carriers. This gel keeps the hyaluronic ag in place. The hyaluronic- acid immediately pulls in water. In this way, it increases volume. This works well for deeper to more severe wrinkles, folds, and areas of the face where more volume is needed. These fillers can be dissolved naturally, with most lasting for at least one year. Some may last even longer.
There are various HA Fillers on the market. We use Restylane and Juvederm’s HA Fillers for subtle enhancements to dramatic effects. More options. Customized results.
What are Neurotoxins and how can they be avoided?
Botox and Dysport are injectable neurotoxins that can temporarily help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Repetitive muscle contractions can cause facial lines and wrinkles to form and get deeper over time. Botox and Dysport will weaken these muscle contractions temporarily leaving the skin visibly smoother.
Common areas to treat include the forehead and frown lines. Although results are visible in a few days following treatment, the effects will last for two weeks. You can expect to see results for as long as four months, if you do the right dosage.

What is HydraFacial?
The HydraFacial treatment addresses all skincare needs using patented technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate the skin.
HydraFacial super serums contain nourishing ingredients that give you a radiant glow in just a few minutes.
The first step cleanses and peels the skin to uncover a new layer of skin using gentle exfoliation. A light chemical peel is then applied to the skin to resurface it and prepare it for painless extracts. Next, debris from the pores is removed using painless suction. The skin is then nourished. To enhance the skin’s glow, antioxidants as well as peptides are instilled. It is quick and easy!
What is Dermaplane?
Dermaplaning uses a medical-grade surgical blade to remove the surface layer of dead skin, debris, and hair. A single session can remove about 2-3 weeks worth of built up dead skin cells or debris. Dermplane is completely painless and non-invasive. The technique may look similar to shaving, but it is much more effective because the blade being used is able to get right against the top layer of skin. There’s no reason to be concerned about your hair becoming darker. Dermaplaning works on the vellus (peach fuzz), and the hair grows back exactly the same size. The way the surgeon cuts hair doesn’t create thicker hair. There is no downtime.
What is Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a treatment where a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers of the dermis. Chemical peels can help improve the skin’s texture as well as radiance. Chemical peels come in superficial, medium, and deep strengths. You can see a difference in your skin depending on your concerns, and which peel you choose to address them. To achieve the best results, it is advisable to use multiple treatments.
What is Clear + Brilliant Laser?
Clear + Brilliant Laser is based on advanced technology, but getting Clear + Brilliant treatments is simple. All treatments begin with a consultation with your skincare practitioner to see if Clear + Brilliant is right for you – and to pinpoint some of the key trouble spots it can help address. Your practitioner will then recommend a Clear+ Brilliant Laser treatment plan. With two handpieces to choose from either to address skin texture issues like fine lines/wrinkles and poor size or brown spots, there is a perfect treatment option for you!
What is an Insta-Glo Facial, you ask?
Our signature Insta-Glo Facial will leave you glowing for days! It combines a HydroJelly masque with a custom ampoule to address your skin’s needs.
First, the skin is cleansed and exfoliated. The ampoule then gets applied to the skin. After, the customized HydroJelly masque is applied. The appropriate products are then applied to your skin. You are now ready to go! There is very little downtime with this treatment.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling can cause microscopic wounds to the skin. The body’s natural wound healing process is stimulated by microneedling. Cellular damage is minimized.
A series of three to six treatments may be recommended depending on your results. This procedure has minimal downtime.
Lashes & Brows
Let’s not forget our eyebrows and lashes. We all know that lashes as well as brows have a huge impact on our overall beauty. Just as we color our hair, why not our eyebrows and lashes? You can create the illusion of longer lashes and brows by tinting the hair follicles.
You can make it even more dramatic with a lashlift. You can achieve a semi-permanent curl that lasts up to 6 weeks. It’s time to put down the mascara and curler and get ready for a lash/brow lift and/or tint.
Have a tight schedule? Latisse is an alternative. In as little as eight weeks, this at-home treatment can lengthen your lashes and make them thicker and darker.
