There’s going to be another Steam Game Festival in June

Earlier this month, the week-long winter event of the Steam Game Festival brought over 500 new demos to Steam. Fortunately, some developers have enabled Valve to keep demos available after the week ends, and you can still find playable sections of the game like Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator, Loop Hero, Warhammer 40,000: Dakka Squadron, and Little Nightmares 2 on their websites on Steam -Pages.

The subsequent summer event will take place between June 16-22, as stated on the ResetEra forums. There will again be demos, livestreams and developer chats to support upcoming games. Games considered for the event must be unreleased, have a release date no later than January 2022, and have not participated in any of the previous two Steam Game Festivals. (Early Access games will count as long as they haven’t released a playable build before the festival starts.)

While Steam has done spring sales at times in the past, we’ve been going without one for two years now. If this trend continues, the summer edition of the Steam Game Festival may coincide with the next big Steam sale.
