For Acer, the Predator line leads the way on the front of the gaming laptop. The Helios and Triton sub-brands have been gradually improving their design for years, and finally, this year Acer removed the word “Predator” from the laptop’s lid, a win for anyone who doesn’t want to giggle in public and public with this laptop.

The best Acer laptops for gaming in 2021
1. Acer Predator Triton 500
The best Acer laptop for gaming 2021.
CENTRAL PROCESSOR: Intel Core i7 10750H | GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060-2080 Super Max-Q | R.A.M: 16 GB – 32 GB | Screen: 15.6 inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS 144Hz | Camp: 512 GB – 1 TB SSD | Battery: 84Wh | Dimensions: 10 x 14.1 x 0.7 in | Weight: 4.41 lbs
Appetizing price range
First class performance
Once you’ve overcome the initial fear of its terrible startup sound, the Acer Predator Triton 500 is hands down one of the best gaming laptops I’ve ever used. Small enough to fit in a backpack and light enough not to weigh you down, it crams a 15-inch screen into a 14-inch bezel for an RTX gaming experience that’s both portable and powerful, despite the odds is. It doesn’t have the longest battery life as it failed in less than three hours in our internal battery test. However, the Power Brick is a bit compact so it may not require a battery. You can’t expect to play intense Triple-A games outside of the charger anyway.
What you can expect from the Acer Predator Triton 500 is a blissfully quiet, high-performance gaming laptop that can outperform the latest consoles. You can get it in the RTX 2060 and 2080 variants. The latter can be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. However, I recommend the middle of the road option for the best value: Intel Core i7 processor, RTX 2080 graphics, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage. Without a few glaring design oversights and a notable lack of screen resolution options beyond 1080p, the Triton 500 would be a perfect machine. Still, it’s a relatively inexpensive gateway for ray-traced graphics rendered in real time, and deserves its place on the best Acer laptop for gaming thrones.

2. Acer Predator Helios 300
The best Acer laptop for mainstream gaming.
CENTRAL PROCESSOR: Intel Core i5 8300H – i7 10750H | GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 – RTX 2070 | R.A.M: 8 GB – 16 GB | Screen: 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS 240 Hz | Camp: 256 GB SSD – 1 TB hard drive, 256 GB SSD | Battery: 48Wh | Dimensions: 10.5 x 15.4 x 1.1 in | Weight: 5.95 lbs
Good performance for the price
Serious processing quality
Space for three storage drives
Although it comes in 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch flavors, we prefer the 15-inch Acer Predator Helios 300, a budget-conscious clamshell designed for gaming in any of its many forms. While they come in ten different configurations, almost all of them are good choices.
The Predator Helios 300 is one of the most powerful mid-range gaming laptops that offers plenty of performance for less than $ 2,000, which is no easy task. The large number of configurations even allows you to find a way to lower the price even further by foregoing unimportant components (at least for games) like RAM or a screen with a lower refresh rate. In this way you can save yourself a considerable part of the changes. Especially if it is to complement your existing desktop rig, the Helios 300 is a solid and inexpensive alternative to the RTX-equipped Triton 500.

3. Acer Nitro 5
Best Acer laptop for gamers on a budget.
CENTRAL PROCESSOR: Intel Core i5 9300H or AMD Ryzen 5 3550H | GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 560X | R.A.M: 8 GB – 32 GB | Camp: 256 GB – 512 GB SSD | Screen: 1920 x 1080 inches | Weight: 5.7 pounds
Just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean you have to miss out on some killer games on the go. The Acer Nitro 5 has plenty of AMD configurations alongside Intel, and for less than $ 700, you can still enjoy 1080p gameplay at modest frame rates. You’re generally in the GTX 1650 range here, but that’s a good GPU for 1080p if you like to play around with the settings a little.
If you’re a college student, the Nitro 5 has plenty of ports for all of your accessories, like portable hard drives, gaming mice, and other extras, without breaking the bank. Acer’s NitroSense fan control app ensures that your laptop always stays cool during heavy use. This means you can work on your lap without frying that lap. The touchpad can be a bit temperamental. We recommend taking a gaming mouse to complement this laptop.
